This guide covers cancelling your YAPL subscription, what happens after cancellation, and how to reactivate if needed.

Before You Cancel

Before cancelling, consider:

How to Cancel

Step-by-Step

  1. Navigate to Settings in sidebar
  2. Select Subscription tab
  3. Click Cancel Subscription
  4. Review cancellation terms
  5. Confirm cancellation

Confirmation

After cancelling:

  • Confirmation email sent
  • Status changes to "Cancelled"
  • Access continues until period end

Who Can Cancel

Only workspace owners can cancel subscriptions:

  • Single owner can cancel
  • Multiple owners: any owner can cancel
  • Team members cannot cancel

Cancellation Effects

Immediate Effects

When you cancel:

  • Subscription marked for cancellation
  • No immediate access loss
  • Billing stops at period end

At Period End

When billing period ends:

  • Full editing access stops
  • Workspace becomes read-only
  • Team members lose edit access

Data Preservation

Your data is preserved:

  • Projects remain intact
  • Plans and tasks saved
  • Activity history kept
  • 90-day retention period

Data is preserved for 90 days after subscription ends. Reactivate within this period to restore full access.

Read-Only Mode

What Works

After cancellation takes effect:

  • View projects and plans
  • Access historical data
  • Download exports (if Professional was active)

What Doesn't Work

In read-only mode:

  • Cannot create new projects
  • Cannot edit tasks
  • Cannot invite members
  • Cannot change settings

Refunds

Refund Policy

  • No refund for partial periods
  • Access continues until period end
  • Full value for remaining time

Exceptions

Contact support for:

  • Billing errors
  • Service issues
  • Special circumstances

Reactivating

During Access Period

If still within billing period:

  1. Go to Settings > Subscription
  2. Click Reactivate Subscription
  3. Cancellation reversed
  4. Billing resumes normally

After Access Ends

If subscription expired:

  1. Go to Settings > Subscription
  2. Click Reactivate or Subscribe
  3. Choose a plan
  4. Complete payment
  5. Full access restored

Data Restoration

If within 90-day retention:

  • All data intact
  • Projects accessible
  • Full functionality restored

After 90 Days

If past retention period:

  • Data may be deleted
  • Contact support immediately
  • Restoration not guaranteed

Cancellation Scope

Cancellation is per workspace:

  • Cancelling one workspace doesn't affect others
  • Each workspace has separate subscription
  • Manage each independently

Team Communication

Before Cancelling

Communicate with team:

  • Announce upcoming cancellation
  • Allow time for data export
  • Transfer ownership if needed

After Cancelling

Team members should know:

  • Access continues until period end
  • Export important data
  • Read-only after expiration
