Workspace Settings

Configure your YAPL workspace settings including name, URL, and regional preferences.

Workspace Settings

The workspace settings page allows you to configure fundamental properties of your workspace. Access these settings from Settings > Organization in the sidebar.

Accessing Workspace Settings

  1. Click Settings in the sidebar navigation
  2. Select Organization from the settings tabs
  3. You'll see the workspace settings at the top of the page

Basic Settings

Upload a logo or avatar for your workspace:

  • Displayed in the sidebar and workspace switcher
  • Helps team members identify workspaces quickly
  • Supported formats: JPG, PNG
  • Maximum file size: 2 MB
  • Recommended size: 200x200 pixels or larger

To upload a logo:

  1. Go to Settings > Organization
  2. Click on the logo placeholder or current logo
  3. Select an image file from your device
  4. Logo updates immediately

Workspace Name

Your workspace's display name appears in:

  • Sidebar navigation
  • Workspace switcher
  • Team member invitations
  • Email notifications

Requirements:

  • 1-100 characters
  • Can include spaces and special characters
  • Should be recognizable to your team

Workspace URL

The workspace URL (slug) is used in:

  • Direct workspace links
  • API integrations
  • Sharing and references

Characteristics:

  • Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only
  • 3-50 characters
  • Can be changed in workspace settings
  • Must be unique across YAPL

The workspace URL can be changed, but this will affect all existing direct links and API integrations using the old URL.

Description

An optional description helps team members understand the workspace purpose.

  • Up to 500 characters
  • Appears in workspace overview
  • Useful for multi-workspace organizations

Regional Settings

Configure how dates, numbers, and currency are displayed.

Default Language

Sets the default interface language:

Individual users can override this in their profile preferences.

Default Currency

The workspace's default currency for:

  • Project budgets
  • Resource costs
  • Financial reports

Enter the 3-letter ISO 4217 code:

  • USD - US Dollar
  • EUR - Euro
  • TRY - Turkish Lira
  • GBP - British Pound
  • And 150+ other currencies

Date Format

Choose how dates appear throughout the workspace:

Fiscal Year Start

Set when your organization's fiscal year begins. This affects:

  • Financial reports
  • Budget tracking
  • Period-based analytics

Select any month from January to December.

Default Tax Rate

Set a default tax percentage for calculations:

  • Used in cost estimates
  • Applied to resource calculations
  • Can be overridden per project

Enter as a percentage (e.g., 18 for 18%).

Industry Type

Select your organization's industry:

Industry type helps YAPL:

  • Suggest relevant features
  • Provide industry-specific reports
  • Connect with relevant resources

Saving Changes

  1. Make your desired changes in the form
  2. Click Save Changes at the bottom
  3. Wait for confirmation message
  4. Changes apply immediately

Some settings require page refresh to take full effect.

Permissions

Only workspace owners can modify workspace settings. Team leads and members can view settings but cannot make changes.

To check your role:

  1. Go to Settings > Profile
  2. View Workspace Memberships
  3. Your role appears next to each workspace

Troubleshooting

Cannot Save Changes

  • Verify you have owner permissions
  • Check all required fields are filled
  • Ensure valid format for each field
  • Try refreshing the page

Settings Not Applying

  • Refresh the browser
  • Clear browser cache
  • Log out and back in
  • Check if other owners made changes

Missing Settings Options

Some settings require:

  • Professional subscription tier
  • Owner role
  • Completed onboarding
