# Billing & Subscriptions

Manage your workspace subscription, payment methods, seats, and invoices. All billing is handled at the workspace level by workspace owners.

## Understanding YAPL Billing

Billing in YAPL is:

- **Workspace-based** - Each workspace has its own subscription
- **Owner-managed** - Only workspace owners can manage billing
- **Flexible** - Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime
- **Transparent** - Clear pricing with no hidden fees

## Billing Cycle

### Monthly Billing

- Charged on the same day each month
- Full access from payment date
- Prorated for mid-cycle changes

### Payment Processing

- Handled securely by LemonSqueezy
- Major credit cards accepted
- Automatic renewal

## Who Can Manage Billing

Only **workspace owners** can:
- View subscription details
- Change plans
- Add/remove seats
- Update payment methods
- Cancel subscription

Team leads and members cannot access billing information.

## Getting Started

### New Users

1. Start with 14-day free trial
2. Explore all Professional features
3. Choose a plan before trial ends
4. No credit card required for trial

### After Trial

Options when trial ends:
- Subscribe to Basic or Professional
- Workspace becomes read-only if no action
- Data preserved for 90 days

## Payment Security

YAPL uses LemonSqueezy for secure payment processing:
- PCI DSS compliant
- Full card numbers never stored by YAPL
- Secure checkout experience
- Multiple payment methods supported
